The Young Artists Music Academy is the perfect place to discover the joy of artistic creativity in a family-like atmosphere, regardless of your prior experience. We are proud to present a world-class musical and artistic education to all ages and all backgrounds. Here at the Young Artists Music Academy, we believe that the best possible investment is a good education, as it is a catalyst for a better future.
The programs available at the Young Artists Music Academy are grouped into four packages: Allegro, Vivace, and Presto. Students may choose any one of these packages at the start of each year and may switch packages after the completion of each year. Students of any age and skill level can choose any package they wish. For example, a student with previous experience could register for Allegro, or a complete beginner could register for Presto, and vice versa.
In the Vivace program, students will receive weekly individual lessons and a weekly Music Voyage course & Art of Collaboration from our highly professional and experienced faculty. By having the luxury of one-on-one instruction on their instrument, students in the Vivace program will be able to excel through individualized attention. Students will be able to develop as well-rounded and culturally enriched musicians by having performance opportunities in recitals, masterclasses, and performance classes. Vivace is a great program for students who already know which instrument they would like to learn and are seeking high quality, encouraging instruction.
The Presto program is the fastest way to reach the top of a student’s musical aspirations. This more intensive program offers two private instrumental lessons per week and a once-weekly Music Voyage & Art of Collaboration. By having two weekly lessons, students of the Presto program will be prepared to their highest capacity, giving them to option to audition for college scholarships and conservatory admissions or ultimately become professional musicians.
In addition to having performance opportunities in recitals, masterclasses, and performance classes, students will have access to various public performance venues throughout the city and will be encouraged to participate in competitions outside of the Academy. For those of you who wish to take yourselves to the highest of your abilities, the Presto program is for you.
The Allegro program is the perfect option for children and adults alike who wish to discover the world of music by taking a music appreciation class or by learning to play an instrument. Classes and lessons are held in a group among peers and are a great way to develop individual skills as well as collaboration in small ensembles. Students will also be able to participate in recitals held twice in each semester, and attend masterclasses occurring throughout the year.
In the Allegro program, students can go from learning the basics needed for a strong musical foundation all the way up to advanced musicianship, all in a friendly, supportive environment. In an effort to encourage exploration and curiosity, students may switch the instrument they would like to study from year to year. If you have always wanted to learn an instrument but never had the chance, or if you have a child who is curious about starting an instrument, there is no time like the present to give the gift of music — a gift that will last a lifetime.

Recitals occur twice per semester and are open to any students of the Academy who are prepared with a piece. By participating in recitals, students learn to have stage presence, charisma, and many other qualities that are necessary in the performing arts. These culminating bi-semester events give students a great opportunity to celebrate their achievements among family, friends, and fellow students of the Academy.
Performance classes meet quarterly and offer a great opportunity for students to set short-term goals for themselves throughout the semester. Students of their teacher’s studio may perform a piece for their teacher and peers, after which the teacher and fellow students will offer constructive criticism and helpful tips to help with future performances. These classes are a great way for students of the same studio to meet, develop friendships, and inspire each other. In these classes, the teacher may also perform to demonstrate a concept or initiate a conversation about music that will open up the floor for a valuable exchange of ideas.
This highly unique and integrated course offers instruction in the areas of music history, solfege (sight singing), listening (repertory), and music theory starting from the most basic level and going all the way up to pre-college preparation. Students will learn the skills needed to be well-rounded musicians by virtually surveying the entirety of Western Classical music from its inception to the classics of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms, to the modern trends of today’s music, and everything in between. In Music Voyage, students will explore the music of different countries and periods, play games, and bring their understanding and love of music to a level that far exceeds that which can be learned through instrumental lessons. This course is a compulsory part of all Vivace and Presto students’ education and can be enjoyed by itself or in combination with instrumental lessons by all Allegro students.
The Art of Collaboration at the Academy is a course in which students have the unique and exclusive opportunity to work one-on-one with a concert artist every single week. By learning collaborative pieces, students will learn team-building skills, leadership roles, how to respectfully make compromises, and how their own important role fits into a greater sum of parts. Through these experiences, students will not only have fun, but they will become part of a much-needed new generation of culturally enriched individuals equipped to inspire those around them.
Their achievements and hard work will be celebrated each semester in recital performances both with peers and with a concert artist. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity for your child to be bumping elbows (figuratively and literally) with some of the best musicians in our community!
